11 Day Holy Land Israel Tour Itinerary

Sunday, Day 1: Arrival in Tel Aviv and embark on the 8 day holy Land Israel Tour

  • Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel.
  • You will be met by a Heritage Israel Tour (Shalom Journeys) representative, and be transferred to your hotel in the beautiful coastal City of Tel Aviv for check-in .

Monday, Day 2: Caesarea /Megiddo/ Druze village/Haifa             11 day holy land israel tour

  • Following breakfast, we will journey along the coastal plain to Caesarea, once the Roman capital of the region.
  • See the excavations of the Crusaders city and the Roman port, aqueduct and amphitheater recently restored.
  • Proceed to Megiddo, identified as the site of Armageddon; visit the archaeological excavations.
  • Furthermore, continue to Daliat-el-Carmel, a Druze village and enjoy a late lunch at a local restaurant.
  • To conclude, proceed via Mount Carmel to Haifa for a panoramic view of the Haifa bay and the golden domed Bahai gardens.

Tuesday, Day 3: Tiberias / Wester Galilee / Banias8 day holy land israel tour

  • Following  breakfast, you will start our day with a boat cruise on the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ Galilean ministry and the site of many of His miracles (Mark 2:4; Matt. 8:5; 14-17; 9:1-7; 17:18).
  • See the remains of Peter’s house and the synagogue site where Jesus taught and worshiped (Mark 1:21; Luke 4:31).
  • Continue to Tabgha, the site of the multiplication of the loaves and the fishes (John 6:1-14)
  • Moreover, proceed to the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered what is perhaps the most famous sermon ever preached – “The Sermon On The Mount” (Matt. 5).
  • Proceed north to the Golan Heights and visit Banias, one of the sources of the River Jordan and the site of ancient Caesaria Philipi, where Peter made his confession of faith in Christ (Matt. 16:16).

Overnight in the Galilee

Wednesday, Day 4: Nazareth / Beit Shean

  • Following breakfast, begin the day with a drive to Nazareth (Luke 1.26, 4.16-29, Matthew 2.23) via Cana of Galilee, where Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding ceremony (John 2.1-11).
  • Moreover, in Nazareth, we will visit the Church of the Annunciation, St. Joseph’s Workshop and Mary’s Well.
  • Proceed to Beit Shean, where we will walk through the incredible excavations of the largest ongoing archaeological dig in the land of Israel with its amphitheater, colonnaded Roman streets, mosaics and Roman bathhouse.
  • Furthermore, its also the city where the body of King Saul and his sons were nailed to the walls by the Philistines (1st Samuel 31:10). You will continue along the lush Jordan Valley, where the dessert now blooms with flowers and vegetation of every description (Isaiah 35:1-2).
  • To conclude the day we will pass Jericho, the oldest know city in the world and continue south towards the mountains of Judea where we will check-into our hotel in Jerusalem, Israel.

Thursday, Day 5: Jerusalem: The Old City

  • Following breakfast, start the day with a visit to the Mount of Olives, for a panoramic view of Jerusalem.
  • Continue to Trace the footsteps of Jesus.
  • Stroll down the Palm Sunday Route on the Mount of Olives to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church Of All Nations.
  • Moving on, from here we proceed by bus across the Kidron Valley, past the tombs of Absolom, Zacharias, James and King Jehoshaphat to Mt. Zion.
  • Furthermore, visit the site of David’s tomb and the Upper Room where the Last Supper was held (Mark 14.13, Luke 22. 10-38, Matt 26 17-29, Acts 1.13 and Acts 2, The Pentecost).
  • Enter the walled city and walk through the newly restored Jewish quarter.
  • Visit the Roman Cardo, the Herodian quarter and continue to the Western Wall.
  • Moreover, walk along the Via Delarosa to the Church of Holy Sepulchre.
  • To conclude the day, we will return to our hotel for the remainder of the day at leisure and enjoy dinner at our hotel.

Friday, Day 6: New City **Bethlehem

  • Following breakfast, you will drive to Ein Kerem, to visit the Church of the Visitation and the birthplace of John the Baptist.
  • Most important, pay our respects at Yad Vashem – the Israeli Holocaust memorial.
  • Enter the site by walking along the Street of the Righteous Gentiles, dedicated to the non-Jews that risked their lives in order to save their Jewish neighbors.
  • Moreover, continue to Israel Museum
  • Here will will visit the Shrine of the Book, where the Dead Sea scrolls are housed, and a miniature model of Jerusalem is on display.
  • To conclude, we will proceed to Bethlehem ** to visit the Church of the Nativity. Dinner at our hotel in Jerusalem.

Saturday, Day 7: Massada and the Dead Sea area

  • Following breakfast, drive towards the Dead Sea area.
  • The lowest point on earth, almost 1300 feet (400 meters) below sea level.
  • Continuing towards Qumeran to visit the site where the Dead Sea scrolls were found.
  • Furthermore, drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Massada.
  • Moreover, ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans.
  • To conclude the day, descend by cable car and head to the Dead Sea for a swim (cover yourself with the mineral rich mud and float on the water).

Overnight in Jerusalem

Sunday Day 8 – Timna / Underwater Observatory / Eilat

  • Travel south through the Negev desert. Next a stop at Timna, a large geological and archaeological park;
  • We will get a chance to view the outstanding Solomon’s pillars.
  • Continue to Eilat, the southernmost resort city on the shores of the Red Sea.
  • Moreover, explore the Underwater Observatory marine park that was built into a coral reef.

Monday Day 9 – At leisure or optional tour to Petra (with additional charge)

  • Following breakfast, with assistance of a visa at the Jordanian border, drive straight to Petra, the astonishing rose-red city built by the Nabateans (An early Arab tribe).
  • Petra was renowned for its massive architecture, pools, dams and water channels.
  • Moreover, the city itself is almost 45 square km and is considered to be the second wonder of the world.
  • Following the visit, time for lunch in a nice restaurant. After lunch drive back to border.
  • Furthermore, a short visit to Aqaba with the possibility to stop and take a walk around.
  • To conclude the day, transfer to the border at around 18:00 p.m and crossing back into Eilat, Israel.

Tuesday Day 10 – Mitzpe Ramon / Sde Boker / Hatzerim

  • Following breakfast, we will depart Eilat via Mitzpe Ramon and stop to gaze into a geological wonder, the Ramon crater.
  • Proceed to Sde Boker and see Ben Gurion’s hut and grave overlooking the magnificent Zin valley.
  • Stop for a camel ride and a visit to an authentic Bedouin tent.
  • Furthermore, learn about the Bedouin hospitality and enjoy a light lunch.
  • To conclude the days touring,  continue to Hatzerim and visit Israel’s Airforce Museum

Wednesday Day 11 – End of 11 Day Holy Land Israel Tour Transfer to Ben Gurion Airport

  • Last breakfast in Israel. To conclude, we will transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for departure back home with lifelong memories.
